John Adams & Katie Bulla

Wedding Weekend - 10/3-10/5, 2025

  • What will the weather be like?
Early October in Monkton, Maryland, is typically mild and pleasant, with daytime temperatures averaging in the mid-60s to low 70s (°F) and cooler evenings dropping to the 50s. While we hope for clear skies, autumn weather can be unpredictable, so we recommend packing layers to stay comfortable throughout the weekend. A light jacket or sweater will be useful for the evenings, especially if you plan to enjoy the campfire! Keep an eye on the forecast as the weekend approaches, and we’ll update guests if any major weather considerations arise.
  • Where should I stay?
For a fully immersive experience, we highly encourage staying on-site at the campground! There are cabins with climate control and electricity available for plenty of guests, as well as more rustic cabins, RV parking spots, and plenty of room for tent camping if that is something you are interested in! There are multiple hotels within a reasonable distance in either Pennsylvania or Maryland, and Airbnb/Vrbo options as well. Check out the "Venue" page for more information on the camp and other lodging options.
  • How should I get there?
Camp is easily accessible by plane, train and automobile! If you're driving to camp, please note that it is approximately 1.5 hours from Washington DC, and approximately 3.5 hours from New York City. By train, you'll want to get off at Baltimore's Penn Station, which is about 30 minutes away. If you are flying in, the closest airport is Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), which is about 45 minutes away. If you are flying in or taking the train and staying with us at camp, we'll try to coordinate a shuttle to pick you up, once you arrive you will be kept busy and well-fed so we think you won't find a reason to leave until it's time to go home.
  • Can I bring my kids?
Kids are welcome! Please be aware that this is a huge summer camp in the middle of the woods and they will need supervision for safety, especially if you are planning to stay overnight on Friday. If your children are too young to sleep in beds, also be aware that no cribs, etc. are available and you will need to bring your own or let us know ahead of time so we can help you figure something out! We will have one cabin designated as the Kid Zone during the Ceremony, Reception and After Party on Saturday night with lots of fun activities and staffed with babysitters/camp counselors to keep them safe and entertained while you party the night away!
  • Where can I direct questions?
In the lead up to the big day, feel free to reach out to Katie and John at adamsbullawedding@gmail.com. In your welcome packet, we'll share more direct contact information for who you can ask questions while Katie and John are busy getting married and stuff!
  • You're not going to do some weird immersive game thing are you?
    TBD :)
  • Where is the ceremony?
All of the wedding events will take place on the camp grounds at Camp Puh'tok. The ceremony will be outdoors in the courtyard of Fort Mackinac.
  • Where should I sit?
For the ceremony, there are no assigned sides—feel free to sit wherever you'd like! Whether you're celebrating with the bride, the groom, or both, we want everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed. Choose a seat, settle in, and enjoy the moment as we celebrate together! For the reception, a seating chart will be available to guide you to your assigned seat. If you're unsure where to sit or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask a member of the wedding party. We’re so excited to have you with us!
  • Can I bring a plus 1?
We’re so excited to celebrate with you! Due to the intimate nature of our wedding, we’ve made the guest list based on a set number of people. If your invitation includes a plus one, please feel free to bring a guest. If your invitation is just for you, we kindly ask that you attend solo to help us accommodate all our loved ones. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us!
  • How do I RSVP?
We’ll be opening up RSVPs closer to the wedding day, once the formal invitations are sent out. However, if you’d like to give us an idea of what you’re thinking sooner rather than later, we’d really appreciate it! You can fill out the form available on our website's home page, which will help us with our planning.
  • What if I have dietary restrictions?
We want everyone to enjoy the meal, so if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences, please let us know! When you RSVP, you’ll have the option to specify any dietary needs. We will do our best to accommodate all requests, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly options. If you have any specific concerns, feel free to reach out to us directly—we’re happy to work with you to make sure you have a great experience!
  • Will you be serving alcohol?
Yes! There we will be providing alcohol at the welcome party, reception, and after party. We also highly encourage you to bring some of your favorite beverage to add to the beer canoe and/or to enjoy throughout the weekend. We want everyone to have a great time, so feel free to bring whatever you'd like to share or enjoy during the festivities!
  • Is there a theme?
Yes, kind of! While the ceremony and reception will be pretty standard wedding vibes, we're going for a retro summer camp theme filled with fun activities and surprises throughout the weekend. You are welcome to play into that as much or as little as you'd like! Think summer camp meets celebration—a weekend full of memories to make, stories to uncover, and plenty of chances to connect with everyone!
  • What should I wear?
    TBD
  • Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We’d love for you to be fully present with us during the ceremony, so we kindly ask that you leave the photo-taking to our photographer for that part. Don’t worry though, there will be plenty of chances for photos during the reception and throughout the weekend! We can’t wait to see the moments you capture.
  • Do you have a gift registry?
This is still to be determined. We will more than likely have a honeymoon fund, but we'll make sure it is finalized before the Formal Invitations go out!
  • What time are all the festivities?
Check out the "Events" page for the most up to date schedule of events :)
  • Is there parking available?
Yes, there is parking available at the camp. We'll provide a map and lots of signage throughout the camp to let you know where you can park! Note: We'll ask that those guests who are staying on-site and feel comfortable doing so park in the further parking spots to allow those who are coming in only for the ceremony and reception to be able to get in and out as smoothly as possible.
  • Is the venue handicap accessible?
Camp Puh'tok is ADA accessible. We are able to accommodate guests' physical needs by housing them in ADA accessible cabins as well as providing transportation to different parts of the ceremony and reception via golf cart. There are ADA ramps in the Hacienda and Thunder Bird Lodge as well. If you have any concerns regarding your needs, please reach out the bride and groom directly at adamsbullawedding@gmail.com We will do whatever is necessary to make sure you are comfortable, cozy, and safe!
